Gender is Useless
Shubei Zhang
Inspired by XF's concept of abolishing natural gender, "gender is useless" was derived. Two related posters were made based on this concept, each with relevant processing code and physical display. The text poster highlights the analysis, printed on transparent paper, covered with dirty or blocked acrylic. The poster in the processing code is covered with floating bubbles, highlighting the enlarged part of the bubbles. Both indicate that more efforts need to be made to break natural gender. The image poster highlights the "TA" and the background portrait of people whose gender cannot be seen. "TA" is a genderless pronoun that can be used to refer to all living and non-living. The poster is reflected in a blurred mirror, making the portrait even less clear. The poster in the processing code can be distorted at will until the content cannot be seen clearly. These are all interpretations of the concept.
